Peter

Peter Everts, Ph.D.

Dr. Everts received his PhD in 2007 from the University of Utrecht Medical School, titled: “Autologous Platelet Growth Factors: Autologous platelet-leukocyte enriched gel. Basics and efficacy.” (ISBN 13: 978-90-8590-016-0).
He has published over 40 peer reviewed articles, book chapters on cardiac surgical subjects, and the last 10 years on platelet-rich plasma therapies, and other biological therapies.

Peter has been trained as a clinical perfusionist in the Netherlands in 1981. He was chief of the department of extracorporeal circulation technology at Catharina Hospital Eindhoven from 2000-2010, where he developed the first European department of Peri-Operative Blood Management, to provide biological cell therapies in order to prevent blood loss, stimulate natural wound healing, avoid infections in general, cardiac, orthopedic, plastic reconstructive, and spinal surgical procedures, and chronic complex wounds. Furthermore, he was a pioneer in using concentrated autologous plasma to produce autologous fibrin in different clinical applications to control postoperative hemostasis.  Dr. Everts was member of the steering group of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to develop guidelines and consensus for platelet rich plasma therapies in sports medicine for (professional) athletes.  Dr. Everts is the founder general director of the Dutch Da Vinci Clinic in The Netherlands. He developed integrated wound healing concepts, bridging the many needs for patients and health care providers, in order to organize adequate and state of the art chronic wound healing models

Currently, Peter is the Chief Scientific Officer at EmCyte Corporation, managing international scientific studies, peer-to-peer training and educational programs, developing clinical protocols with K.O.L.’s. Furthermore, he aims to development health care treatment pathways in regenerative medicine in the US and internationally.
